Matt Shubin has experience playing and coaching at the highest levels.   In 2000 he led Pierce Junior College to a 19-0 record and a state championship.   At UCLA he studied the game under the tutelage of Coach Al Scates, the most successful Coach in the history of Division I Collegiate Athletics (19 NCAA Championships).   After graduating from UCLA, Shubin continued his indoor playing career as a professional in Greece and Puerto Rico. Matt also has experience coaching at the international level.  In 2007 he coached the SCVA High Performance Boys team at the European Global Challenge in Maribor, Slovenia.

Shubin has a wealth of experience working with young athletes.   He has been a volleyball camp clinician at UCLA, LMU, and Pepperdine.  He has run the Sinjin Smith and Randy Stoklos Beach Volleyball Camps which had over 100 campers weekly.   Matt has coached a top 18s and 13s team for the Sports Shack Volleyball Club. In 2007 Shubin had the privilege of coaching 200 Orange and Blue Campers, the largest group the West Hills has ever seen.

From 2005-2006, Shubin coached the Palisades High School Varsity Girls Volleyball Team.  In 2006 he led the Dolphins to a league championship and advanced to the city-section semi-finals.

In 2007 Matt Shubin took the helm as the Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach at Chaminade College Preparatory. He led the Lady Eagles to their first playoff birth in 15 years.

In the summer of 2008 Matt was named head coach of the Southern California Volleyball Association Select National Team, a collection of the region's top girl's players.  Under his direction the Southern California Girls went undefeated to win the Gold Medal at the USA High Performance Championships in Tuscon, Arizona.

In October of 2008, Shubin was chosen for the Top Men's Assistant position at Cal State University Northridge. He served as director of recruiting and operations in addition to his coaching responsibilities.  Shubin helped lead the Matadors to a 24-7 overall record and a Division I #1 national ranking, the only CSUN athletics team to ever accomplish that feat in the history of the school.

In the summer of 2009 Shubin founded Club Beach, the first Juniors Beach Volleyball Tour for club players. He is also the Co-Director of the Southern California High Performance Beach Program along with Sinjin Smith.

Matt Shubin holds a Cap Level II Coaching Accredidation and is a Gold Medal Squared Certified Coach.

Shubin will serve as a Head Coach for 2 top Achieve teams in addition to his duties Club Director.

George Roumain or "Big George" as he is fondly known by his opponents and friends currently competes on the AVP Beach Volleyball Tour. In 2004, Roumain, along with partner Jason Ring, captured their first AVP tournament title at the Huntington Beach Open. Roumain started competing on the beach after dominating indoor volleyball at International level. He was a member of the U.S. National Team from 1999-2000 and named 2000 United States Olympic Male Volleyball Athlete of the Year.

George is a strength and conditioning coach and posture alignment therapist for professional athletes and high level collegiate prep players. He is a certified personal trainer who is in the process of completing his CSCS credentials, the gold standard in the industry.

George has been working as a coach with top club programs for over 10 years. He has coached numerous athletes who have gone on to have successful collegiate volleyball careers.

George fell in love with surfing in fifth grade and is in the water any chance he gets.   He currently resides in Thousand Oaks with his lovely wife Kimmie.

 

 

 

 

Jenblocking

Jenn Probert is a former Division I standout at California State University Northridge. She is a great all around the player and knows the game inside and out. Jenn started playing volleyball as a freshman in high school and fell in love with the game continuing her career by playing club for Channel Islands Volleyball Club in Ventura, Ca. She was on the 16-1's team for one year then moved to the 18's team the rest of her club career where she was recruited by Jeff Stork of California State University Northridge as a middle blocker. Once she began playing at CSUN, Stork moved her to the outside and then to the rightside. She has become a well rounded player through much experience in various positions throughout her career. Although Jenn has a passion for indoor volleyball, she enjoys playing on the beach as well. She has competed in numerous tournaments for the California Beach Volleyball Association.

Due to an ACL injury Jen in now using her passion for volleyball to help train the next generation of volleyball stars. She believes if you love something, never give up no matter what obstacles get in the way. Jenn still has a passion for the game and plays whenever she can.

Theo Edward is a Senior on the volleyball team at Cal State University Northridge. He has been a huge contributor for the matadors on and off the court.

Born May 17, 1987 in Woodland Hills, Calif. ... mother is Gretchen Edwards-Gordon and stepfather is Kelsey Gordon ... has one older brother, Ian ... favorites include the Los Angeles Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers' Shaquille O'Neal ... favorite TV show is "Entourage" and favorite movie is "Training Day" ... once met actor Denzel Washington ... says the best thing about being an athlete is "being a role model to kids" ... major is Urban Studies.

Theo is star coach on the rise.  He is a triple threat.  He knows the game inside and out, he is a great teacher and he has unparalleled enthusiasm in the gym.

Bartlomiej Sebastian Kowalski was born July 31, 1983 in Wejherowo, Poland...A computer engineering major at UCSB...Named to UCSB's Dean's List in 2006...Cannot do without his family, friends, and music...Top bands include The Bouncing Souls, Thrice, and Rise Against...Lists his favorite movie as "Star Wars"...Favorite TV show is "The Simpsons"...Has an older sister, Kamil...Parents are Antoni and Iris Kowalski. He is currently pursuing his Masters degree in Engineeringat Cal State University Northridge.

Bart Kowalski was a star setter at UCSB, setting numerous school records and all MPSF Honors.  A 2002 graduate of Royal High School, where he played setter...Named First Team All-CIF Division II in 2001 and 2002... Named Royal's Scholar-Athlete of the Year and served as class valedictorian as a senior...Played club ball for Southern California Volleyball Club, earning the bronze medal at the 2002 Junior Olympics...Won a silver medal with SCVC at the 2001 Junior Olympics

Bart is a Gold Medal Squared accredited coach.  He has been able to apply his smarts as standout setter and engineer to help many players take their games to new levels.  Barts knowledge of the game and his ability to interact with athletes in a very personable way are what sets him apart as an elite coach. He is currently serving as an Assistant Coach for the Cal State Northridge Matadors.
